Trains Magazine Throttles Back

Trains Magazine, the venerable railfan and rail industry publication has announced a plan to reduce printed issues from 12 per year to 10, with two issues being delivered virtually. In a June 18th article, editor Bill Stephens announced the September issue will be the first virtual in the magazine's long history.

Stephens also announced a number of other changes, including a new Trains app, which provides a magazine-like experience.

Trains has been an inspiration to millions of railfans, including All Things Trains editor Phil Bell, who grew up with both Trains and Model Railroader, which were part of Kalmbach Publishing and have since transitioned to Firecrown Media, led by SONAR owner Craig Fuller.
