The Chicago Sun-Times has a great write-up on Metra's America250 locomotive, EMD SD70MAC-H #525 and the designer of its paint scheme, Felicia Woods. The 525 is part of a group of former Kansas City Southern SD70MACs that are being rebuilt with flared radiators and 480V HEP capabilities for use on Metra's former Milwaukee Road lines. While the units are in some ways evocative of the EMD F40Cs that used to roam those routes, the 525's scheme incorporates the America250 logo and elements of the Metra scheme into a very unique, patriotic take.
